KAFAS4 High

The KAFAS camera system plays a critical role within the Driving Assistant system.

Equipped at the front of the vehicle, the camera is capable of detecting vehicles ahead at distances of up to 120 meters. Unlike traditional radar systems, the front camera can also identify stationary vehicles. Its high lateral resolution enables early object recognition, allowing the system to detect vehicles cutting in or out of the lane. This capability supports predictive driving interventions and enhances overall situational awareness.

At higher speeds, the front collision warning system assists the driver by pre-conditioning the brake system, enabling faster response times and reduced braking distances. In urban environments, the system automatically initiates braking if a collision with a moving or stationary vehicle is imminent and the driver fails to react in time.

Additionally, the system is able to detect pedestrians crossing the road and will activate emergency braking automatically to prevent or mitigate collisions.
